How long do burnt BlueRay disks stay readable?
Burnt CDs and DVDs suffer from osmosis. As a result of that process they get corrupted after between 5 and 10 years and cannot be read anymore. I.o.w.: the data on them is irreversibly lost.
Consequently, burnt CDs and DVDs have to be replaced with freshly burnt CDs and DVDs before they are 5 years old. I.o.w.: burnt CDs and DVDs are useful for MEDIUM TERM data storage only!
Does anybody know if this limited data lifetime also applies to burnt BlueRay disks?
