Help with DLink NAS DNS-321 and Mac
I have a DLink DNS-321 that has a 1TB drive in it and I use it to manually backup files from my MB Pro (which means dragging and dropping directory folders in the Finder). I also use Time Machine with a WD Passport external portable which is convenient but I like the centralized aspect of networked storage.
Q1: Does anyone have an alternative suggestion to automate this process with the NAS?
Also, I have difficulties getting my Mac to read files in a directory that has 5000 JPEG files taken by my DLink security netcams and overwritten. The directory is configured as a folder for the DNS-321 FTP server. Windows has no problem reading this folder. With my Mac, I can read other folders on the NAS such as my mp3 and movie folders.
Q2: Has anyone encountered problems reading cross-platform networked folders?
Thanks,
