Data compression error with iMovies
I am new to Mac and new to iMovies. Just finished creating a movie project (imported movies from iPhoto, home video, and some songs from iTunes). The project runs fine in iMovie. My goal is to be able to see this movie/project in AppleTV.
From what I understand, the only way to do that is to export the movie using Quicktime (expert setting -->movie to AppleTV) and then import it in itunes. When I try exporting it, I get the message that this cannot be compressed as there is data not compatible. When I called Apple support, they basically said, we cannot help you as your issues are related to content and not the program. I am not a techie nor am familiar with Macs, but I suspect it must have something to do with the video format (.AVI).
Is there a way to include .AVI videos in iMovie projects? if so, please let me know the process and any other shareware media converting tools that I will need.
