Not sure if there already one of these knocking about but assuming Apple keep up with their yearly refresh we should get a new model next summer right? Is there any confirmed processor or other specs we know of?

I'm guessing we'll see at least these features.

    1. OLED Screen

    2. Faster processors (perhaps a dual core)

    3. Faster Imagination SG graphics

    4. Bluetooth 3.0 ???

Apple doesn't discuss about unreleased products. Just sit back and enjoy the show at next years WWDC 2010.

I could do without 2 & 3. I want longer battery life. I don't find my current 3G to be slow, and the 3GS is more than fast enough (no such thing ever is).

My major complain is battery life, I just wish my iPhone lasted longer so I can enjoy it more.

It would be nice to see a different iPhone look for a change. Bigger OLED screen with a glowing apple logo in the back? Better camera or even Integrate the support of IEEE 802.11n standard for Wi-Fi. Definitely bigger capacity now that Toshiba launched of its 64GB embedded NAND flash memory module which is the highest capacity yet achieved on the market today. Last but not least, the battery life.

Wouldn't mind true multitasking or timed local notifications myself.

I'm the last person in Chicago without a cellphone.

I gave my ladyfriend an iPhone [3GS] (which she loves BTW).

In contemplating purchasing a phone for myself should I:

    1) Get an iPhone now

    2) Get a pay as you go phone and wait for the next iPhone update

    What do you folks think?

I think it depends on if you're keen on AT&T and how long you're willing to wait. I'm on Sprint right now and the contract doesn't end for another year or so. Thus, I'm gonna wait and then hop onboard next summer with the new hardware.

You're about 6 months away from a new phone so keep that in mind.
