New iMac viewing angles
Hey folks,
Has anyone noticed anything different with the viewing angles on the new 21.5" iMacs? I currently have an older model (20" iMac) and the viewing angle isn't the best. Even sitting a little lower from center like I currently do, I get a fair amount of "wash out" in dark scenes in movies/video games. Has anyone noticed if the 21.5" iMac has better viewing angles? It's fairly annoying and would give me more reasons to upgrade . Also, is the image quality any better? I have not seen the new ones at all on display so I can't comment on anything but I'm very curious

If you have the 20" aluminum iMac then it's a TN display and the 21.5" IPS display certainly does have better viewing angles and more vibrant colors. However, it's still glossy so when you view it from the side, the internal reflection of the glass panel will still wash out the display. You can see this in the video here at about 5 minutes in:

You will probably be used to that already with the glossy model though and viewing from the front or from the side in carefully controlled lighting (e.g pitch black), you will see a big difference in quality.
