With all the free services out there, is Mobile Me worth the cost?

It's seamless (with most Apple and many third-party apps).
Integration between multiple Macs and iPhones.
It requires no "set-up".
It just works.
That said... there are products that accomplish the same things for free, with more capacity, and that are faster
but... will require some set-up or networking know-how to get them up and running.
For me (and obviously, many others), the $99/year is worth it to have something that works with no effort on my part.

It's worth it to have no advertising which is what "free" sites usually rely on.

2 hours ago I had lunch at a Pakastani restaurant
and while I was there I grabbed a biz card and input their
info. Got home and the minute I fired up my Touch the contact
was sitting there in my Mac's addressbook.
Added a photo and URL as from the desktop and before I knew it looked down
and my Touch's info was updated.
If you like only having to input data once then Mobileme is a Godsend. Seriously
buy it at Amazon when it drops to the low 60 dollars range and you will not miss the
paltry 5 dollars a month it costs. Everything on Mobileme has worked like it should and I've
seen nary an annoying add.
I'm sold.
