When does Apple add HD movies to the iTunes Store?

Hi, I'm new to the US iTunes store.



I was wondering if there is a set period before Apple will add an HD version of a movie to iTunes after the SD version?



Specifically, I want to get District 9 in HD, but at the moment it is only up there in SD with Extras.



Should I wait a few weeks for the HD, or are there movies that don't even get an HD release? Is it a studio dictated decision?
