Macintosh HD size fluctuates...!!!

I have recently installed windows on my mac using parallels .



whenever i open windows , size on macintosh hd info. varies , suppose at 12.pm its 242.8 after 10 min its shows 241.6.. and i havent done anything or installed or saved anything....



pls guide me what is happening ..



and hd size keeps fluctuating... \

    It could be a number of things. I think Parallels stores the Windows VM pagefile on the Mac system, not inside the Windows system and this can be quite large.



    It could also be that because Parallels allocates the RAM you assign to it all at once, OS X may create a large swap file.



    If it's after opening/closing using the restore function, Parallels dumps/restores the RAM contents so it creates a file the same size as the RAM you assign to the VM. If you have 256MB assigned, when you use suspend, it writes a 256MB file to the filesystem. I'm not sure if this gets deleted after restore though. It's most likely to be one of the above two.
