Stop the presses, the issue is that bad.

Apple is facing new problems and issues on the production of the iMac 27" Core i5 and i7, and is already announcing to its customers that it will not be able to ship the unit for the expected delivery date.

According to one of our sources, the company completely stopped the iMac 27" assembling lines, the production will not resume before Apple has finally found a reliable and definitive fix for the remaining past (flickering and flashing display) and new issues (yellowish panel and flickering display) affecting those models....

Well considering the issue was basically unaddressed until now, I'd say this is good thing overall. They won't ship for probably 4-6 weeks, but at that time they'll be fixed.

Better than 3 months of shipping a defective product.

Separate the computer from the display. Not that big of a deal.

It's a shame they don't put the Core i5 and i7 chips into the 21.5" model. Now potential Mac customers have to be without a computer entirely just due to a screen fault.
