How popular is GPGPU computing nowadays?
If I got a Mac with a discrete GPU in it, would many of my Mac applications have opportunities to take advantage of it with the help of OpenCL or CUDA?
It's because I'm thinking that the only reason I'll ever need a full-sized GPU in my computer is if my everyday applications can take advantage of it, especially since I don't play computer games.
