Beeping Buttons

I love Star Trek. As you all may know from my former posts. Does anyone know if that is possible with the iPhone and then the iPad Virtual Keyboard?

I know this sounds stupid, but touching glass gives no indication that you pressed any real key. With a sound made from the virtual key taped would make it seem more real and less of a second guess if the key was struck or not.

It's not a beep, but rather a "typewriter" sound.

Settings > Sounds > Keyboard Clicks

    That's all I know.

There is a classic episode of Boston Legal, where Denny Crane (William Shatner) opens up his clamshell cell phone, and it makes the sound of a tri-corder. There are some fun references to Star Trek in Boston Legal.

As for your question, don't have a clue. There are references to VoiceOver for the iPad. I believe it is already present in current iPhones. In Mac OS, VoiceOver is a screen reader, primarily useful for blind and low vision people. I am unclear how the iPhone OS version compares.

Having auditory feedback that is controllable, could be a useful feature. I wouldn't think it a silly desire.
