Redesigning the Springboard (home screen)
I was complaining (yet again) to a friend about the sad state of the iPhone/iPad springboad when he told me I'm not to first to come up with these ideas. He directed me to Asktog, where I saw that what I was asking for was Tog's improvement numbers 1, 3 and 5. Holy frijoles! Serves me right for not reading Tog in a couple of years. But hey, at least GMTA. 
What a pity that 1) I haven't programmed in decades and would take too long to come up to speed with iPhone OS development and 2) Apple probably would never allow an app that modifies the springboard to do such things.
