Now THIS looks like a good action packed movie... not those sissy type of 'sneak peak' trailers they had before.

From this trailer I feel this is a movie I can actually get to the movies 6 hours before to get a good seat for.

The cgi does look pretty cartoonish though, especially the landscapes, etc. I would've thought ILM could do better than that. Actually, looking at EP 1 again recently, I have to say that the CGI they did in that movie was pretty horrible compared to many other movies.

Anyway, this movie looks very wicked... you get to see the 1st version storm troopers, 1st version At-Ats, and what looks like 1st version battle cruisers (the big triangular empire ships).

Agreed with most. Yet, the CG characters have excellent lighting and shadows. If you watch the scene when the Trade Federation lands, you can see Jar-Jar has excellent lighting on his head and the rest of his body.

I am excited about how cool this movie looks. Lucas always wants his movies to end with three or four different stories happening, and this one we will not be let down.

Just look at the end of the trailer with 10-odd Jedis fighting that army of droids.

By the way,Can someone give me a synopsis of what happens?

I thought it was just me. I'm really worried about how cartoony it will look. I want this movie to be good, but I feel like Lucas might have went overboard with the special effects this time.

With all the trailers we have a total of like 4 minutes of footage, so I guess I can't really tell until May 17th.

    Synopsis:

No spoilers, but don't read it if you don't want to know.

It's 10 years after the Phantom Menace. Padme is no longer the Queen of Naboo, she's now a senator. On her way to Coruscant she is attacked and almost killed. The Jedi council put Obi Wan and Anakin on duty to protect her. Hijinks insue.

Padme is again almost killed by an assassin and Obi Wan decides to investigate. So he leaves Anakin alone with Padme and I believe he tells them to go back to Naboo and stay there.

They don't listen, go off on an adventure, fall in love and then horrible horrible things happen (won't give it away) that show why Anakin will turn to the dark side. Meanwhile Obi Wan's investigation leads him to the discovery of the clones, a big fight with Jango Fett (father of Bobba) and his eventual capture.

Anakin, Padme and all the rest of the Jedi end up on the planet where Obi Wan is being held and a gigantic battle takes place between droids, clones and the Jedi.

I left out a lot so not to spoil anything. One major scene I can't wait to see....

    Yoda kicking ass

Yoda has a fight scene and according to what I've heard, he totally kicks ass and shows why he is the "master".

You remember in Return of the Jedi when the Emperor throws force lightning? Well Yoda actually catches force lightning that is thrown at him and throws it back!!!!

Okay, THAT trailer almost restores my faith in the franchise!

That looks like a serious, not-only-for-kiddies flick!

Much like "Empire", it looks to be darker and more sinister in tone.

$5 says it won't have a happy ending, much like "Empire".

Those Stormtrooper-looking soldier looked pretty cool!

I like how it seems to start bridging this era of the saga with the original trilogy we all know and love with little visual and design elements like that.

I'm betting that by Episode III, we'll even see a TIE fighter or perhaps even the Falcon?

Maybe Han Solo as a schoolkid, cutting class and all.

"When 870 years old you were, kick this much ass you did not, mmm?!"

At a minimum, this ep looks to be much better than the last bubble-gum-like installment. I forget: do we get to see that stupid JarJar plastered all over a wall at some point? I want that goofy f*cker DEAD, and soon!

Sadly Jar Jar doesn't die in this one.

At least he has a lot less screentime though. Hardly even a background character really.

as soon as i have a bit more free time i'm going to pick up where i left off.

editting jar jar out of the first episode. i've watched it enough to come to the conclustion that you could easily take out 80% his screen time (esp. when he's talking) and not really do anything to the supposed plot of the first episode.

this helps keep the viewer from wanting to actually shoot their own computer or television.

oh yeah, couple that with new DVD burning iMac my parents got, and it might be time to have some fun with digital editting.

I gotta say, it's looking up.

Nothing better than Samuel L. kickin' some ass.

Except, perhaps, Yoda. Cuz, see, when I see Yoda, I think Grover. and when I think Grover kicking ass, I get a big smile on my face.

    Cuz, it's GROVER!

I am SOOOO stoked for episode 2...it looks like they have seen the errors in their ways(episode 1) and are about to put out a movie worthy of the star wars title.

side note: I was thinking about the title...attack of the clones, my first impression was "oh my god! what the hell are they thinking thats terrible!..etc." but I watched phantom menace last night, and return of the jedi the night before(empire last week, a new hope the week before) and thinking about the movies in general and the titles, "the empire strikes back" is a just as goofy of a title as "attack of the clones" and taken out of context(or to someone that knows nothing about star wars) "a new hope" is kind of goofy too....now don't get me wrong, I'm one of the biggest star wars freaks on the planet, but I really don't think that episode 2 has a terrible title anymore, I see the logic behind it, and I'm sure in 20 years new star wars fans will hardly care about the differences between the original trilogy and the new trilogy...personally I'm super stoked for episode2, I can't wait.

As long as Episode 3 isn't called "Go Team Go", the titles used should be fine.. ...

wow... that looks like absolute crap. the computer generated backdrops look horrid and completely fake.

    so unconvincing.

why the hell does EVERY scene have to have a CGI landscape? especially ones that look so fake?
