Problem with screen capture...

How can I change the location of files created with the screen grab features of OS X Snow Leopard ? I tried to play with the "Keyboard" control panel, but I'm always getting an error when I try to capture a screen picture (something like : "can't write file to the specified location"). I really don't know what is that "specified location" and how to change it. Any idea ?

It would normally be your desktop folder. Maybe the permissions changed on that folder in your users directory. You can use Tinkertool to set the capture folder (in the general tab). If you run a repair permissions with Disk Utility, it may fix the error.

Kali, if you take lots of screen snaps, there are some great apps that do a bit more than the built-in functions.

From Ambrosia, SnapzPro is awesome and there are two versions, one that lets you take video.

Another is Viola. I got it as part of a package and they are improving it over time (it's fairly new). It has an organizer.
