I was trying to find an answer for you. Good thing I looked at your thread again. The only way I know how to do it, is to restore your software, something I can almost do with my eyes closed, and then name the computer again. I was curious to know why it mattered. Oh well ... never mind, I guess.
Go into System Preferences, then Sharing and substitute the current name with a new one.
Done.
(If locked, to unlock the settings, you need to have admin privilegies: click the lock in the lower left corner and enter the credentials to allow changes. Note: You're always an admin if your user account is the only one on the computer.)
