2 questions regarding iPod touch / iPhone 4G

My friends iPod Touch fell into the pond, it is gone, dead. he was backed up, so that is all good.

Here are my questions:

1. How does he access his calendar on his computer (Windows XP)

2. When he buys the new iPhone 4G, when he plugs it in for the first time, will it offer him the chance to sync it up to that existing profile.

    1. Windows XP doesn't come with a built-in Calendar app that works with iTunes to sync calendar data from an iPod or iPhone, however if your friend's computer had Outlook from the Microsoft Office suite, then his calendars might be synced there.



    2. There's no discernible way to tell if the forthcoming iPhone will support data backups from an iPod touch, although historically backups have been cross compatible with iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad.
