I got an interview...

...with IKEA. Interview's Sunday. I really don't know what for either. Could be sales, could be web or graphic design. I have a friend who works there and she suggested I apply and attach my web/graphic design resume with the application. I also have her as a reference.

I expected a week to two weeks for a reply. But HR called two days later. Thing is that I worked there before. From '85 to '90. I left to persue my design goals. Now I may be going back...weird.

With nothing else out there replying and with the web/graphics market as it is now I think this could be what I need to move on. Speaking of moving, that could be another decision I may have to make too. The commute from Center City to the 'burbs will be killer (1 bus ride = 1 half hour, there and back). Done it before but the option to relocate looks immanent...

Still, I am excited. It'll be a chance to be with my friend more.

I'll miss Philly though if I move...

Good Luck Art! The commute may suck but it's always nice to be pulling in some dough.

Sorry. Hour and a half... I have done this before, but the other way around ('burbs to Philly and back). Still, it isn't that I have to hopscotch from bus to train to bus etc...

Thanks for the support all. Thanks for putting up with my postal mental rants these past few months too...

I have really been going nutzo trying to find work. There have been some nice openings (one was at an Apple reseller...still haven't heard from them... ). But there isn't ever a call back or they just drag their butts...

    Gotta run!

30 minutes on the bus is nothing. If you had a car, it would be more like a 15 minute commute. I've always thought a commute less than 1 hour was considered short.

I commute to school/work an hour and a half every day. Good luck (with the interview, not the commute. )

I wish you the best of luck. If you get the job at IKEA you'll be in my new neighborhood. I'm moving into that area in a few weeks and I'll be commuting to Philly everyday. So I'll be doing your reverse commute.

I love the area though, but I don't like living in the city. To each his own, I guess.

Good luck and here's to hoping they open an Apple Store in King of Prussia!!!!

You all should live where you work. I work with a guy now that leaves the house at 4:30 to get to work at 6.
