As if CNN weren't bad enough already

At least they used to offer free Quicktime Streaming.

Now all they offer is Real Steaming (yes, steaming) and they even expect you to *pay* for it. bah.

I sent them an email asking them to bring back the Quicktime.

I've noticed a few sites not using Quicktime anymore. Discovery channel for one. All they offer now is Real and WIMP. I emailed them as well.

Anyone else feel like emailing a few media sites asking for Quicktime format media? Do it nicely.

(and yes, I know some here don't like CNN - that's not the point. It's a fight for Quicktime. )

Yes, I've been noticing that lately.

I wonder if QT 6 and MPEG-4 will change things - isn't it supposed to make things more platform-independent? So you could use QT to catch a stream from Real, as long as they were using MPEG-4?

BRusell, I doubt it. They might use the same mpeg-4 compatible codec, but they'll probably stick to an uncompatible file format (.rm, .ram) as a container.
