Is it possible to change the background behind the top level User Account Menu screen (log in screen)

Yes, you can change it. But it gets a little tricky.
The file is here:
/System/Library/CoreServices/DefaultDesktop.jpg
But it seems sometimes you have to fiddle with permissions on your replacement file to make it work right

Yes, you can change it. But it gets a little tricky.
The file is here:
/System/Library/CoreServices/DefaultDesktop.jpg
But it seems sometimes you have to fiddle with permissions on your replacement file to make it work right
