Question about EyeTV HD.

I do alot of video editing and I'm currently going to school for it. The brunt of my editing comes from editing movies to songs and creating montages and etc. However I have a problem, I can't find a reliable capture card for a Macbook pro that records HD for my editing purposes. This is why I am curious if EyeTV HD will work, because It doesn't specify, I see that component cables in it but will it work for say a Xbox 360 or a PS3 the way it would work for a cable box?
