Bootcamp issues
hey, i have a macbook pro 2.26 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, bought this year.
im trying to partition my harddrive so i can run windows on bootcamp, and the following error occurs:
Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again.
Is there a way i can get around this? im really not keen to re-format my whole mac.

1. Get an external hard drive, use the program Carbon Copy Cloner and create a duplicate of your main drive. Make sure you can boot from it by holding the alt key and choosing it at startup. Then just erase your internal and clone the external back onto it.
2. You can defrag your drive using a program like iDefrag.
In both cases, it makes sense to have a clone of your system in case the Bootcamp setup goes wrong and you erase your main drive.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like there are already two Mac partitions. I believe BootCamp is asking you to have just one Mac partition. There might be a way to get around it, I don't know of one.
