Mail received *hours* later since 4.0 software update? Fix?

Ever since the 4.0 update (on our 3GS phones), my friends and I have noticed that our email delivery to the phone is severely delayed. In the past, mail from my various accounts would be sent to my phone almost immediately with few exceptions. Now, unless I manually check email, it will be six to seven HOURS before my phone receives new emails. I have updated to the new 4.0.2 software, but that didn't change anything. I'm hoping that I'm just missing something very obvious because the nearly-instant receipt of email is very important to me.

UPDATE: I can't believe I didn't try this first--I feel like such a dope. I deleted the email accounts off of my phone and then added them back. They now receive emails as quickly as ever. Thank goodness! This is such a relief!

    1. What types of accounts are they (gmail/exchange/etc...)

    2. You have verified push settings for mail? (mine had defaulted to manual at one point in the 4.0 beta)

    Thank you for the reply:

    1. I have a Yahoo, GMail, Exchange, and Mobile Me. GMail is surprisingly the fastest now (it used to be the slowest). I don't use the Mobile Me so I can't comment on that one's speed.

    2. Push is set to on and Fetch is set to every 15 minutes.

What do your accounts indicate when you click the "Advanced" button at the bottom of the "Fetch New Data" page?

Nothing noteworthy it seems. Yahoo has mailbox behaviors for the drafts/sent/deleted mailboxes and when to remove delete messages. GMail and Mobile Me have the drafts/deleted mailbox, using SSL or not (I have it on), authentication, IMAP path prefix, and server port. Exchange doesn't have an Advanced button.
