I need to book my flight and need some help with finding the best deal.

NYC to the SF Bay area. so I guess either San Jose, SF, or Oakland airports.

The best rate I have found so far is JetBlue @ $150 per person one way.

any experience with jetblue? I'm trying to figure out how they are so much cheaper than the others I have checked which were close to 300 or more

What the hell is JetBlue???? Anyway, a round-trip ticket is almost ALWAYS cheaper than a one way ticket. Go to expedia.com or orbitz.com

I love Jet Blue, fly them everytime I get the chance. They have better planes than most of the big boys and you get free TV on every flight in front of your seat. Seats are pretty comfy too.

If you are looking for absolute cheapest might check with Southwest or AirTran. Southwest flights in my experience are cramped and overbooked, you feel more like Cattle than passengers. But they are dirt cheap. Never flown AirTran, but i've seen them advertise low fares. Check out the big guys too at the usual places, Orbitz, travelocity, expedia. And if you are flexible give priceline a whirl.

Well, I'm booked with jetBlue. They matched the cheapest price I could fine which was America Airlines for 138 each way.

Not too bad. jetBlue looks awesome.

    Thanks for your help

    JetBlue:

    1) has cheery pilots and crew

    2) has brand new Airbus A320s

    3) has dirt cheap rates

    4) has satellite TV in every seat

    5) actually makes sure the person sitting in the exit row speaks fluent English...

That is NO way to run a company, WTF!!!

They'll be bankrupt in half a year.

Maybe they're just subsidized by a consortium of major airlines...I wouldn't be too surprised if JetBlue just disappeared right after PriceLine gets put out of business...

A telly right in front of you?? For $150??

This I have to give to America though. I may do a bit of bitchin about your country but you truly live in a rich country. In Europe you couldn´t ride a bloody train over that distance for that kind of money. What, twice that.

    Consumerism at it´s best.

I´ll just sit here and be jealous now...

Jet Blue just started service in the Washington D.C. area (to West Coast and Florida) and they've gotten nothing but good reviews. It's built on the same business model as Southwest (cheap, no frills, avoids expensive airports like San Fran, no hub-n-spoke, and it's effective).
