Navy SEAL holds off al Qaeda for 30 mins
Central Command just released information on a very bad fire fight in the first days of Operation Anaconda. They were trying to land some SEALs on this mountain top and the helocopter got hit before it could land them but one SEAL fell out of the chopper when it was hit. He survived the fall and from what I've heard he held off the al Qaeda, alone, for up to 30 mins before his gun jammed, apprently he was shot at close range. Six other men died trying to save him later on. It's an amazing show of bravery.

Not really. This specfic situation was just declassafied. We knew about the fighting but not about the specfic event. General Franks told the media about it today.

I don't know about that. My AP US told our class exactly what you wrote a couple days after it happened <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

Well maybe but the media, CNN, is talking about it like they just found out about it and I saw the Central Command news conference, today, where they talked about the SEAL and the action on that mountain in detail. It doesn't matter. I just thought it was a good story of bravery and that it was important to post about it with Memoral Day coming up.
