Exchanging 2g ipod touch for new model

I have 2nd gen ipod touch, still under warranty, but it is broken. Think I will be able to take it to an apple store and get a new hd model? Anyone have success with something similar?

    You'll get a used 2nd gen. You're not magically going to get a brand new iPod touch for free.
