The Darn Backlit Keyboard "Issue"

Continuously I see comments about how the lack of a backlit keyboard on the new MacBook Air goes so far as to be a "deal breaker." That is likely because he/she has not seen the product, particularly the 11.6" model, in person. When it's sitting in front of you, it is easy to see that even with certain "sacrifices," it is incredible that the machine even exists as it does. It is so incredibly light and thin, with such presicion physical features. 'Totally gorgeous.

That and why does anyone need a backlit screen when the LCD panel is less than an inch from the keyboard?

I posted this elsewhere, but will repeat it here.

I took my current MBA (bought last year) and turned off the lighting for the keyboard, lowered the room lights and found that when the light level reached a point that I would actually need the backlighting, the screen brightness was uncomfortable on the eyes, even at its lowest setting. I then took the MBA to those places I frequently use it and again, with the backlighting off, had a check; fine.

You could also learn to type correctly.

Something I suck at, but I know many people who never need to look at their keyboards.
