Minority Report - cool interface
Just caught this flick and the user interface for navigating around a screen was great.
Hand gesture simply move things around a floating holographic-like screen.
The movie itself was great too, except I think Spielberg could have cut it shorter and not have such a complete and tidy ending.
Any one else see this yet?

I heard that they actually got a guy from MIT to design the computer interface and gesture system, so ya, its cool
We have an interface right now to move things around with a hand gesture.

Well duh. It was only set like 50 years in the future. If that technology is just emerging now, it better be in a movie about the near future. My review: There were two scenes that were a little long, and some of the plot/characters were hard to follow, but the "dropping the eyeball" scene was hilarious! My entire theater cracked up. Overall, it was a great movie and I will need to see it again.
Another great movie by Spielberg, except for AI..that one sucked.
I wondered if it was Mac inspired.
The tips of light on the end of the gloves also made me think that those gloves could give some tactile response, so that it would be even easier and intuitive to accomplish tasks on that "desktop."
Not a bad movie.
. I had to go to the theatre that's 40km away from my house  because of time issue....

Dang..you don't have a local store that sells Time magazines?
I do agree it was a great vision of the future.
p.s. The book (short story) ends like the movie should have, go read it.
STOP READING IF YOU DO NOT WANT ME TO GIVE AWAY ANY PARTS OF THE MOVIE!!!

My only "Oh, now COME ON" negative comment to the movie was the scene where he goes to extract Agatha from the building... he conjurs up a big lever that acts like a big "Flush" of the toilet...? What possible use would that have...? Why was he the only one who knew it was there or where it lead to...? If it was to drain the fluid, why would there be no drain mesh or grating...? It just seemed STUPID to have the big toilet-bowl escape plan.
other than that... it was a very entertaining movie that (yes) did have a slightly weak ending.
It looked like he was conducting an orchestra, which I think is a cool metaphor for computing.
I like most Speilburg movies. I've never seen AI, though. Schindler's List is my all-time favorite flick, I can't wait for it to be on DVD.

I dug the movie big time. I was thinking the whole time that the computers looked a whole lot like what Apple's giving us now, OS XX version of the Aqua (Air?)interface notwithstanding.

Ironically enough, Dell supplied the computers for the film according to the credits.
His movies suck and he sucks.

What's wrong with Schindler's List?
