iPhone heating up with Brooklyn 3G service
Recently I got a new job in Brooklyn (versus downtown manhattan) and the 3G data has been horrible. There is good coverage but the data speed is ridiculously slow. I can barely load emails and sending a 300K picture takes about 10 minutes and heats up my phone like crazy.
It just seems odd that my phone literally heats up dramatically when its trying to do something for more than a minute. Now thinking rationally, it makes sense when something works harder for it to heat up but I guess my question is more bigger picture than just my iphone.
Why is brooklyn 3G drastically slower. It doesnt even compare. When I worked downtown manhattan I could stream HD netflix movies over 3G with no interuption. I can barely stream pandora for a few minutes without it having to buffer in BK.
Are there just more users? Does AT&T squeeze the bandwidth down when one device is sucking it down?
For years everyone has said they hated AT&T in NYC but I have NEVER had an issue until now. I guess there might be something to peoples complaining.
Theories? Tips? Revolution?
