AirPrint Impressions

A local shop just happened to have an HP 110a printer on sale for $65 yesterday so I picked one up to see how AirPrint works.

There are yet no options as to setting page ranges, so a 4-page Safari page (for example) will print to 4 sheets, even if you only want one page 2.

Also for Safari, there is no way to tell it what to or not to print, so you get a page with lots of images and therefore use a lot of ink.

Pages prints nicely, but again, no range settings.

Photos is where I ran in to trouble. Using L-size sheets, the image was not positioned correctly on the paper and was zoomed. Color was not good. Printing directly from the Mac to the printer wirelessly created a correctly positioned image of moderate quality. Remember though, it's a $65 printer.

So, my thoughts are AirPrint is indeed a work in progress.
