Trouble with my micro projector & macbook pro

I got wrapped into the micro projector storm and ended up getting an aaxa tech m2 micro projector. Initially I got it to use with my rebel t1i. But then I thought about using it with my macbook pro as a second monitor. The problem with that is that my macbook won't read/detect the projector...and the projector does have vga and video out settings. Are there any settings I need to change to on the macbook to make it work?? The projector worked fine when I plugged it into the camera. Makes no sense...

Thanks!

    Success!!!

I realized I said I had a macbook pro, but apologies, it is a regular macbook.

I found the answer I was looking for! Even though the projector has hdmi capabilities, it's best to use vga. But you must have the Apple Display Port to VGA cable or it will not work. Apple places a special chip in those cables which allows it to work. Another thing is that I needed to adjust the resolution and the hz. Too high resolution/hz and it won't work.

    Heres my working setup.

    Good Size Projection

    Projected Screen

    Macbook Screen
