New iPod with old Mac OS

Hello,

I bought a new iPod this week as a result of mine being lost in baggage on the way home for Christmas. It's a nano replacing a classic that I ran on a MacBook that I got in late 2006.

Problem is that in order to use the new nano, I need iTunes 10.5, and in order to get that, I need to upgrade to Leopard (ie OS X 10.5, or whatever), because iTunes 10.5 doesn't run on the OS X 10.4.11 that I currently use.

I'd like to avoid the upgrade, since (1) my computer works just fine, and (2) I hardly ever use my personal computer anymore anyway. Does anyone have any idea of how to make a new iPod work on the old system?

Many thanks.

iTunes 10.5 doesn't exist yet, but the rest is pretty much the same. You can't make a new iPod work on an older system. Get Snow Leopard. It's $29. Not a big deal.
