Final say on 3.33 vs 2.4 or 2.93 2009

First, it looks like for now the 2009 is close to the 12 core in dime apps.

They do make 8 gig ram mods but in a quad machine you are supposed to uee simms 1-3 as putting one in 4 slows it down.b I also read the sweet spot is now the 3.33 6 core that update 9.1.3 fixed

114 tracks at 44.1.

At the same time, 24 gigs of ram at 8x3 is about $1000 so wonder if the 12 core out thEvdoor is thebway to go

or a slower, less cache, fsb, memory

refurb 8 core 2.93

is the way tod

go. I

use a lot of vi's and know any machine really should give me a boost over myb2.4 MacBook pro.

What would you do if you had your pick.

Sorry about spelling. On iPhone got up to go to bathroom. Its late.

What would you do? Againg am using 2.4 mac book pro so should see some jump in speed.

Just not sure what to get right now. Peace

Go for the Refurb and spend the extra on latest graphics card and/or AJA/Blackmagic card if you need them.

Spend rest on fast hard drives. Striped and then mirrored for back up.

Heck, even go SSD but I'd wait til they come down in price and up in size.

So many options these days - really depends on your needs and what your output is as to hardware recommendations.

What represents bang for the buck for me may not equate for you.

Head over to http://www.barefeats.com/wst10c2.html for hardware comparisons.

Hope that helps - my $0.02c
