Have you met your teachers/professors? Are they nice?[/b]
Yes. On the 19th we had orientation where we met our teachers and got our schedules. All of them seem pretty nice. After that we had a picnic in the parking lot (though it was 94º outside).
School year? The school year is the whole year for me. Yay for summer classes. I get two weeks off after this week and that will be the first break i've had since december. I'm quite excited about my break.
I think my classes officially begin on like September 23 or so, but I have two sets of orientations that start on September 10.
What grade are you going in to?
Third year of college, wheeeeee!
What courses are you taking?
1. Transitions to Democracy: Comparative Perspectives (Full Year)
2. Nations, States, and Nationalisms (Full Year)
3. European Integration and the European Union as a political system (Full Year)
4. Ideology and Political Critique (Spring)
5. Theories of the Self (Fall)
6. Case Studies in Ethnic Conflict: Ireland and Northern Ireland (Spring)
7. The American Century: The United States since 1900 (Fall)
And the best part about this schedule is that in the fall, the classes only meet Monday - Wednesday. Heheh, four day weekend for me.
The upcoming school year is particularly exciting for me because I'm forsaking the beautiful scenery and landscape of Santa Barbara and studying abroad in London for the year. I'm counting down the days.
Edit: As long as some people are putting in links to there schools:
Ninth, first year of highschool though I am at the same school.
What courses are you taking?
Molecular Bio(11th grade course but somehow i weasled my way in )
Latin American Studies
This same sky(english :confused
Earth science(only for regents, ick)
Discovering Geometry(tenth grade, i am turning into a ferretweasle)
Intermiedet Spanish
Have you met your teachers/professors? Are they nice?
Spanish teacher sucks she is so spacey I passed her class last year even though I was completly utterly disruptive loud and social. I passed all the tests though
The Bio teacher is ausome, and famous. He is really nice, but strick gotta get your work in and what nots.
The earth science teacher is only in her second year so. . . she is soso. She is the first teacher at our school to teach a regents course, and to teach it to the first class of ninth graders being forced to take them. . .
English teach is okay
Social studies teacher kicks all ass
Math teacher is good and famous, but has something against me.
F8CK....school....dont remind me folks. I got like a month until I go down there, then class starts September 25th. I'm nervous and stressin about goin to college, it's gonna suck. I'll probably fail out. How long do I expect to be in college for? A year. I expect that because a)my business venture will big & b) I'll be going head to head with Mr. Woods in majors. Besides, I don't like school...never have. I'm going to be a freshman at the University of Cincinnati. Probably gonna be majoring in journalism.....minor or double major in economics/business. Who am kidding? I have no clue honestly. Thank god I'm outta that crap high school and away from my crap parents. Maybe I'll get lucky and won't have to go to any of my classes.
Sometime in mid September. Best Guess: 14th. I have to be there on the 5th, though, to take care of some events for the freshman. Hopefully I'll live within water-balloon-slingshot range of Lauren Bush,
301 is "Signal Processing," 375 is "Computer Architecture I," COS217 is a programming class, COS495 is an easy one that deals with imax video, and PSY255 has something to do with brains.
As you can tell, I'm very geared up for my non-departmentals. 495 should be fun. I'm taking 217 and 255 to fill various requirements.
Have you met your teachers/professors? Are they nice?
301: yes. In one word, "pain."
375: yes. In one word, "sympathetic"
217: no
495: yes. This class is supposed to be a diversion that gets credit. The prof treats it the same way. Should be fun.
255: no. But I've heard the word is "hyper." That's good, because I like hyper.
Going to the Carrol school of managemnt so i am forced to major in management but i get to choose a concentration...
I'm thinking about Information Tech and Econ (dual concentration) but may change to Finance or accounting depending on how I like them (instead of IT or Econ depending on if i like them also...)
Computers in managemnt-
Italian-I--FINNALY going to learn italian... Hopefully I will be able to go abroad to italy in my junior year
Lit of the world-stupid english...
Intro to x-tian theo-Umm went to a catholic HS so i dont know why i chose this class... hopefully it will be easy
Econ Micro-211 kids in the class... more then my entire highschool....

Speaking of which. ... I still ahvent spoken to my roommate... I hope he is cool...
Seems like you get to choose your own classes more freely Paul. We basically go on a set class requirement for each major? Excited? Hmm...not I. My high school had like 2000 or so, college is like 35,000 (only school larger in Ohio is Ohio State, which is HUGE!). I'll have to dig up my class list to see what specifically I've registered for...

I hate having to juggle a career and my studies though, it's a real pain sometimes. Not much free time
