Futur iMac->Set-Top-Box/Game station
What do the iMac need to be a set top box and game station in a technical point of view?
1)iMac without LCD(less expensive)
2)you have an internet connection
3)you have a DVD player
4)a DVD-RW to burn your films
5)a stereo out(?) for connecting to HI-FI
6)connecting iPod on the iMac and have the sound coming out of your Hi-Fi.
1)need a powerfull graphic card
2)need a TV-out
3)need a wireless mouse and keyboard
that's is. Or do I have forgotten?
That's the digital Hub and it could be cheaper than the new iMac(without LCD screen).
What do you think about it?

Camera iPod internet ...
That all to have a great sound and big screen to enjoy your Dia, your MP3, view your films directly on your TV.
You could have so much thing in one ... . That wouldn't sold as a computer but as a new device that merge lots of things in one.
It has nothing to do with the pippin anymore.
you left out remote control. gaming controllers, various programs, and most gaming companies...Although conceivable, why? and at what cost?

Why is easy - if Xbox takes off Apple might want to compete.
Personally, I think the gaming area should be left to PS2/NGC.
1) Remove the LCD/arm
2) Change the current VGA-out port to an S-video port. Include an S-video->composite adapter.
3) Change the "Pro Audio" port to a digital/optical out.
4) Change the shiny Apple logo on the front to an IR port.
5) Include a remote.
The R&D would be very minimal. You could also argue for the need for an RF keyboard and mouse and some type of LCD display on the unit (like a home CD-player's LCD), but these wouldn't increase the cost much at all. Just my $.02.
