Yea...I first saw that at school and thought @#$%ing Netscape 3 was being a POS (on a PowerMac 5200 75LC, no less,) then I (painfully) scrolled down and figured out it was a 9/11 tribute.

Now the big question: why not shades of red, white, and blue?

I think the people who run Yahoo! are terrorists and demon worshipers...

I thought it was very nice and classy. I respect them greatly for it. It gets the point across.

Kinda has the look and feel of an old Next box.

I thought I'd gone through a time warp...Like it's the internet of the '50's or something...

Thought it was entirely appropriate though. I had gotten sick of all the red, white and blue crap. Yahoo is to me an international portal and I thought the use of shades of grey were a universal way of responding to the tragedies world wide.
