...in the arena of crusty, messed-up once great/respected actor who now comes across like a nutball.

I loved Nolte in the original "48 Hours"...GREAT lines and acting.



But I saw an interview with him earlier this year and he is simply scary now. He seemed to be high or just plain spaced-out, and his hair was going every which way (kinda like that mug shot from the story above) and just looked like hell in general.



Too bad. I'd heard he battled alcohol and drugs for the longest and got finally got clean. Guess it didn't stick.
