Album Artwork Not Automatically Transferring To Ipod From iTunes Library

I have a 160 gb. iPod. Whenever I rip music from a cd & then transfer those songs to my iPod, the artwork never transfers to the iPod. Only purchased tracks from iTunes transfers, or artwork that I manually insert from say Google. The artwork that automically loads when you rip never transfers. Cansomeone explain why this happens, and how to fix this?
