IPAD: How to manage and deploy apps in entreprise ?
I am gathering information about the possibility of using iPad’s in the banking sector. I want to know if there is a way to develop and deploy apps without using Apple app store. What we need is a private App store that would be only accessible by the enterprise iPad’s. We also need an App store that would be managed by the IT department without any Apple intervention.
The banking system has extremely sensitive programs that can’t be made available or even seen by anyone outside the company.
One example of an app we want is a bank ATM status app. The app would connect to a unix server over secured internet connection. It would show a list of the entire bank ATM’s with complete information. We want to use this app over 3g and it would be made available to the ATM support team and some VP’s
