Did somebody knows how much memory the new Ipad will have ,look like Apple they didn't say nothing about this.Could this be it will be the same like the first Ipad ( 256 ).Many thanks guys.I am looking to buy one in Friday but i want to make sure it will have more memory.

Sorinel,
I believe it is 512, based on what I've been reading.
Since it's dual core, it makes sense that they at least double it to 512.

Sorinel,
By the way the more that Apple pulls this crap the more I get pissed off. The amount of RAM installed in a computing devices is critical to understanding its capabilities and suitability for any specific use. It is enough to make me look at devices other than iPad. The problem there though is that nothing currently comes close.

Even then I'd look for multiple confirmations from reliable sources. For me the answer is critical as an iPad 2 with 256MB of RAM would be useless. Apparently you agree so the only thing I can suggest is waiting for a tear down or other investigation that details the memory in the device.

An analyst in the orient posted that the iPAD2 has 512 MB which is twice what iPAD has. In addition it is running 1066 vs 800 which makes for considerable improvement. Couple that with A5 dual core, offers twice the performance. With a graphics chip upgrade from 535 to 543, performance is up by 9 times. EZr to hold, with thinner, lighter, flat bottom, slick screen cover that also serves for quick on and off also serves as a great stand in Landscape orientation. This put the 30 pin connector on the side that makes for EZ access for the HDMI for mirroring... great for presentations. Hope this helps a bit.

Apple sold 15 million iPADs last year and they only had 256 of ram... I'll bet the majority had no clue what ram was, let alone how much. And the customer satisfaction was that the vast majority felt they were plenty fast, did the job, and they are telling all their friends what a great device iPad is.
With your theory above, all PC's running under Windows XP should have not 2, but 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM right? Then they surely would be better because they have plenty of RAM, right?
If you check your techology quotient, XP only recognizes up to 3.3 GB. But you would put in 6 or 8 GB and then it would be better? right?
Now with iPAD2 it likely has a bit more memory, but if Apple doesn't share that with you, maybe it has what it needs, it is faster yet... But if they don't share ... you don't care to get one... is that right? Do you have any clue how the memory pool is managed in iOS?
If you check your techology quotient, XP only recognizes up to 2 GB. But you would put in 4,6 or 8 GB and then it would be better? right?
To be fair, it's 3.3GB of RAM, but your point stands.

Let's get something clear here -- I don't give a damn what your so called vast majority knows or thinks. IPad is a great device but suffers significantly from a lack of RAM. If you don't understand why I say that you really shouldn't be commenting here

You have no idea what you are talking about. The problem with RAM is specific to iOS and directly impacts what apps are capable of doing on the machine.

Honestly I don't care what you do with XP, I gave up on MicroSoft with NT SP3 and spent years running Linux machines.

Actually I do which is why I say iPad 1 is a bit of a joke with 256MB of RAM. Which by the way really means around 120MB available to the user app. Frankly if you had a clue yourself you would have never posted this message with this attitude.
By the way reports are coming in that 512MB is indeed supplied with iPad2. In any event I think you significantly underestimate the importance of RAM and what it will allow for on iPad2. Many people that think they are happy with iPad 1 will likely change their minds quickly once they see the difference in performance of iPad 2.
Looking in to buying an iPad but am wondering if buying now would be a mistake. Im just wondering how long it is likely to be before Apple decides that its time for an update

Thanks, I actually knew that, but had a CRS moment. I appreciate the correction.
With a little more digging, is has been posted that iOS4.3 is quite a bit more efficient in memory utilization than earlier OS versions.
The spec reviewers will continue to fight, but the software is where significant improvements come. Since APPLE controls both hardware and Software, the matching is much better, as is timing. HP realizes that and spent a lot of money to be in a position to do the same thing.

I actually am very much aware of what RAM does, and how important it is. I did misstate the limit for XP should have be less than 4GB. That is why 64 bit processing is in vogue ... it can address a lot more memory.
There is another issue and that is how the software is written to utilized the available memory. It is posted that iOS4.3 is a lot more efficient in memory utilization. Also memory speed is significant. Some say 800 mhz/sec clock time, but some are reporting 1066 mhz/sec.
I think we all would be interested in the real facts. I can appreciate you taking issue with my intent when I didn't use the correct baseline info. A star for you
