iTunes download failure

Hi there,

I am having some real problems downloading iTunes.

For sometime now (try 3 months) I have been attempting to download the most recent version.

I go to the iTunes site (and also attempted to update using the update function) and go to the download section.

The download proceeds as normal, before simply stopping most of the way through.

It is sending me loopy - I have tried everything I am aware of!!

Today, I read through the support on the apple site and reconfigured the start up via msconfig.exe, removing all non essential services and start up items. Just when I was getting excited about being able to use all my apple products as I should be able to, the download stopped at 76.3MB or 76.6MB. That's 99.61%!!

If anyone else has experienced this problem and found a solution - Please save me - I think I will end up on Prozac, rocking back and forth in the corner of my room it I don't fix this soon!!

Thank you,

Try to download from a mirror site.....or use some download tools like flashget.

Here is an alternate link from Cnet:

Also if you have an Apple store near by or some other electronics retailer ask them to download it and burn it to a disk for you. I did that a few time when I worked at Apple for customers.

Dumb thing I know--but did you shut iTunes down BEFORE you downloaded the new version?

    If not try that.

Rather than shill your third-party download site crap, why not just download the latest version from

Unless I've misinterpreted the OP that is precisely what doesn't work for him, Skil...

Indeed... Complete failure of reading comprehension.

"So what 'cha wanna do is dis: Download ya'self AppZapper and get rid of iTunes and all its preferences and settings and whatnot. Den ya can reinstall from a stock DMG."

And there's no 40's gangster emoticon, so imagine one.
