Would you go see it?

I think that Ironman is my second favorite superhero, behind Batman.

Yeah I would go see it, but not because I am a big Iron Man fan. Can't wait to see the Hulk and even Dare Devil looks good. Movies about Marvel Comics seem to be better in general. Spiderman, Hulk looks good, Dare Devil too. The Spawn thing kinda did me in for Image stuff. I thought it was cheesy.

But what would really be awesome if the FANTASTIC FOUR!!! Oh yeah!

Oh, heck yeah, I'd love an Iron Man movie!

Repulsor blasts, the Unibeam, flight, even the suit itself would all look great on the big screen.

Marvel movies are great, but i wish they were aimed more at adults and a little less toned down (ie xmen). I guess producers of these movies run into problems with this because their target audience is mostly kids, but the nature of the stories leads to very violent movies with characters who are vulgar and cruel.

I think a Wolverine movie would be great, but maybe a little less PG than xmen was. I think seeing the weapon X stuff would be great!

I would love to see an Ironman Movies as well.

Yeah, well, after X-Men hit at the box office the studios started buying up all the comic book properties they could get their hands on.

Seriously, this is getting out of hand. Is there anyone who won't sell out for enough money?

There aren't too many commercial corporations I can think of that won't. Calling Marvel Comics a sellout is sort of like calling McDonalds a sellout-they've been going for the broadest appeal since day one.

Edit-Did you mean to quote Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back almost word for word? Be careful, I'll be tempted to start a pointless thread like those "They Might Be Giants lyrics" ones for Kevin Smith lines!

I was referring more to the artists, who I assume hold the rights to the characters and/or plotlines.

Damn, it wasn't word for word? ;-)

I suspect you're thinking of a "Holden Mcneil not selling to MTV thing." He and Banky were working on an independent comic.

Marvel itself owns the characters coming out in these movies, and most of them were created by Stan Lee or Jack Kirby in the 60's.

One thing I hope happens with these superhero movies is that the sequels delve into the characters' personalities as much as the comics do.

In a first movie, you only really have time to intro the heroes, cover their origions and put them in a big battle. Only their most basic traits come out. In the right hands-over a few films-a character like Iron Man, with Stark's alcoholism and James Rhodes taking the role for awhile could really be cool.

It makes me wish Tim Burton had stayed interested in Batman.

But, hey, what do I know? I'm just a sad, pathetic little bastard living in my parents basement, downloading scripts and what I think is inside information about movies and actors I claim to despise, yet can't stop discussing.

In an amazing coincidence, it just came out that Stan Lee is <a href="http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/news/archive/2002/11/12/entertainment1703EST0724.DTL"; target="_blank">suing </a>Marvel for more money from the Spiderman movie!
