OS X 10.6.7 | TRIM support 3rd party SSD
I have a 2011 13" Core i5 Macbook Pro. The first thing I did after setting up Time Machine and successfully backing up was to install more RAM and a SSD. I didn't notice till yesterday that the system was reporting the TRIM status as not enabled for the drive even though my unit was suppose to ship with the 10.6.6 update that added TRIM support to OS X.
I have used the kext patch that enables TRIM (at least in theory) and the system profiler now reports TRIM as active but is Apple actively denying TRIM support to 3rd party SSDs?

What kext patch? Does it support 3rd party SSD on a late 2009 MBP or is it limited to the new models?
Edit:
Thanks!!!!
