The J5 Experience

I'm a little late, but a couple weeks ago I was fortunate enough to see Jurassic 5 live in concert. Now, I never go to concerts in fact I'd never even been to 1 but when I heard J5 was cmoin to Tha Natti I just HAD to check them out.

This was my first concert ever and it was well worth the $22 I paid to see them. Beanuts opened the show up so that was real cool that I got to see 2 of my favorite groups in 1 show.Beatnuts did a few cuts includin 'Watch Out Now' & 'No Escapin This', performed for about 30 minutes or so.

There was a pretty long break in between Beatnuts and J5, and during the break all the b-boys got together and were breakin in a circle. That was mad crazy and a lot of fun to watch.Let me tell you, the wait was well worth it. These guys absolutely put it down on stage and made me a fan once again. They are awesome live and bring an incredible amount of energy to their performances. I liked how they played a lot of old songs off of Quality Controland all my favorites off of Power In Numbers cept for "Remember His Name". I can't even remember all the songs they did...if you ask I can probably tell you if they did it. They had one they brought JuJu of Beatnuts out to do with them.

One awesome part is when they turned the lights on stage off and just had Cut Chemist & DJ Nu Mark doin some crazy turn table action and ish like dat. Then towards the end there was a candle light vigil for Jam Master Jay which was real cool.

Lastly, J5 hung out after the show and signed EVERYTHING for EVERYONE that was there waiting for them. I met Cut Chemist, Mark 7even, Akil, Chali 2Na, and Zaakir. These guys are real and truly down to earth. I spoke with them a little and told them how much I appreciated them and got my CD signed by all those guys. Nobody was around Zaakir when I went up to him and as I was goin up dude stuck his hand out to greet me. Thought that was cool.

The real hip-hop is over here.

J5 MCs!!

Face it, nobody here listens to Jurrasic 5.

I always thought a cappella was for preppies or queers anyway. (or both).

I only like music with huge frequency bands. That FFT equalizer better be spread out at Max amplitude all the time over every frequency. I haven't heard any hip hop that can pull this off.

Didn't Steve Spielberg direct it? Or was it James Cameron? You say they have a live act now? Today's youth... <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />
