I'd love to see an apple PDA. My only concern is that modular add ons would never be a concern for them (for allot a people for that matter) I've had my visorhpone for about eight month's and it's the coolest thing ever (the whole visor unit.) I've actually stopped carrying my laptop around do much.
I've even begun designing one of my own with another engineer and software designer. Visor has a huge advantage for certain people's needs in my opinion. Problem is the market reallydoes pay allot of attention to those sorts of gagets. just niche gageteers.
Point is I'm sorry to that that unless Apple did something decidedly Un-Apple and actually made a really good gadget It's not something I'd buy. Do you really think apple would make something as cool as the Sony you showed off. Doubtfull. For instance take the ipod it has firewire and that's great, but why not add some 1/8" inputs add a firmware update and you can also be recording certainly in 16bit possibly 24, Add a larger hard drive option and you have a tapless, portable dat/mp3player with more than enough space for allot of work.
Maybe I can justify it if I buy one for my girlfriend and play with it when she's not around Cuz it would pin the coolfactometer to the roof..

It does look big, but it IS supposed to be a handheld computer and that will be the future whether Apple goes there or not.
Apple doesn't really prototype anything in public, so maybe they are letting everyone else develop hardware ideas, while it waits to pounce with FW and its software when the time is right.
A camera.
Be afraid!
My vote for the slickest PDA: the <a href="http://www.bitecomm.co.uk/O2xda/images.html" target="_blank">O2 "xda"</a>
Unfortunately it runs a Microsoft OS. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

I for one, am not able to have my m505 magically levitate while using the stylus with my right-hand.
