What was/is your favorite subject in school?

Mine was Science followed by Arithmetic. Math was always attractive because it was like making poems out of numbers when solving equations and problems. I got a certain staisfaction from solving number problems that knowing historical facts, for example, could not give me.

What was your favorite subject and why?

    Physics.

All my homeworks, quizes, tests, etc. have been As as far as I can remember. I got a 7 in my IB Physics Higher Level and an 800 in my Physics SAT II.

Physics is for simple-minded individuals, that is why I like it.

in high school, it was physics and any history class taught by this one teacher... the teacher was important, not the subject, really. in college, its art history-- specifically asian arts and material culture courses, and my japanese literature/film/culture courses. i'd like my japanese language courses more if i was better at speaking.

my most interesting class in h.s. was music as a freshman. the teacher had a great way of teaching us [early in the semester], and i enjoyed going to the class despite the teacher himself being an asshole. he would throw out some question about art or emotion and the like, and we'd would have week-long discussions about the nature of it and how the topic related to many things. during his class i actually enjoyed pre-guitar music; what was i thinking?

in the same semester i had a history class that was surprisingly interesting, but it quickly turned to papers and homework.

my senior year i had a pretty interesting lit class. half the year was typical lit: shakespeare and chaucer. the end half was the Bible as literature. we read genesis and exodus as if they were stories. and we would discuss possible interpretations based strictly on the text.

In high school I enjoyed Physics and Chemistry quite a bit, and produced high grades. I also enjoyed a survery course I took on Western Philosophy and Humanities, but I didn't score the same high marks. Whatever.

So far, the courses I've liked most in college:

    Signal Processing, an EE class

Algorithms and Data Structures, a CS class

Rome after 337AD, a History Class.

So it's the same thing. . . Applied Math and Western History. I also used to enjoy visual art classes a lot, particularly drawing, but I never took them very seriously.

I never did particularily well in school, but I tended to favor English, Economics and Poly Sci. It's funny too, cause I still tend to act like I know it all when it comes to, movies (stories), money and politics.

Hmm, my favourite subjects were :- Art, Photography, and Geography. I gained "C" on each of above subjects when I took GCSE exams.

Others GCSE results were :- Maths - "E", Scince (Yawn) "E" and CDT - "D". Well not bad for deaf person. But I don't took English for my GCSE because deaf people have lower level of skills in english than hearing people.

In here we called these school "Secondary School" while you called these USA school "High School"

But my school - were poor, out of date textbooks, water dripping on the ceiling, windows loose, can't afford to paint the walls, outside wall, white paint peeling off, cracks, etc. That's British for you. <img src="graemlins/embarrassed.gif" border="0" alt="[Embarrassed]" />

Whereas I was at a private school, and got straight As in my GCSEs. Really shows up the quality of state education!

I agree with you, except that I hate my middle school life.

Science and Math are OK, I suppose, but only because the teachers are cool.

For me it really depends on the teacher

My favorite subject is whatever class is taught by a good teacher.

Right now, its Art, and Biology.
