Are you a human or a computer?
This test can be used to determine whether the tested is a computer or a person (like those 'copy the letters you see on right' in yahoo and similar subscriptions). So, a human is supposed to pass the test, a computer not. You just have to tell what you see on the pictures.
<a href="http://www.captcha.net/cgi-bin/pix" target="_blank">the test is here</a>
i did not pass. i saw turtles and i should have seen shelss or seashells. so, i am apparently a computer.
Any more losers here?

And I entered "sunflowers" because that is what is in each picture. What does it tell me" [quote]Result of the Test: FAIL
You entered the following word:
sunflowers
The possible words were:
snake snakes<hr></blockquote>WHAT?? Someone please tell me how you are supposed to get "snakes" out of that set of pictures.
Subsequent attempts were just as ridiculous. <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />
You've got a girl out looking for a snake, her "flower", a girl touching her first snake, an old lady who's obviously seen her share of snakes... with a row of young flowers behind her to prove it... the resulting alcoholism.... and being laid out to pasture in the last photo.
How can you not see that.

How could I be so blind?
brad?? you wrote "sunflowers"??? you sick bastard...we all know what sunflowers is a code word for.....
the second was pig or pigs, i wrote hogs. must be the midwest megafarms influencing me.
The first one seemed to be images of the countryside so I wrote ?country?, the answers were ?cow cows?.
Undaunted, I tried another, and there seemed to be small girls in most pictures with the rest looking quite ?gilrish? too, so I wrote ?girls?, the answer was ?witches?.
But these weren't witches, girls dressed as witches, at most.
These test are utter failures.
Half the time i'm a person, half the time i'm not. So the test is wrong half the time, and idiotic all the time

I'm the one who failed?
This test prove one thing, a computer is not suited to test if we are human or not

Classic.
How could they not account for plural words?
Bad programmer, no donut. If I wrote code that bad, I'd be fired.
For those that are interested pix (the photo one) is just pulling stock photos from getty based on keyword searches. That's why you get images like this (note image may disappear):
with the keyword train.
Very poor. Why did they feel the need to issue a challenge to the Artifical Intelligence community? and why did every last 'news' source have to pick this up?
