Wow, this is sad news. The main force behind the Clash is gone and great solo work. Sorta speechless...

    Also gone is a reunion tour and new album. I guess that could be seen as good or bad, but I'm happy he's left behind a great body of work.

    Very Sad. I'm gonna have to dust off the old LPs today and put on Combat Rock. Not their best album, but 'Straight to Hell' is probably my favorite song they ever did. RIP.

    Yeah, sorry Joe and Willoughby...being half awake and in shock this morning will do that to you.



    The Clash will always be second favorite punk rock band...with the Ramones being first...jeez...Joey died before his induction into the R&R Hall of Fame and now Strummer dies before his...weird...but life is ****in' wierd.

    I just heard this on the way home from work, on the radio.



    Wow. He was only 50 too. They're saying "heart attack" on CNN. His wife and kids were with him and are "requesting privacy during this harrowing time", as they should.



    Some great music and definitely a pioneering artist.



    How odd. 2002 hasn't been kind to old punks, has it?

    I got the chance to see him a couple of years ago and all I can is what a talent. Great performer and songwriter. He'll be missed.

    Never got to see one of my favorite bands, but thanks to a live music collectors list I belong to, I have a very, very sweet 2-disc soundboard recording of The Clash playing at The Bottom Line Casino, NYC, 6-13-81. It's absolutely incredible!



    In honor of Joe's passing, I will burn and mail it to anyone who requests it. For those who don't like giving an address to someone on the Net, use a PO box.

    Their first and only gig they ever did here in Switzerland, back in 1978, comes to my memory. What a time this was!
