a friend and i took bart into san francisco, saw "the hot chick" (yah, i know, but it was the only movie showing then that would get us out in time for festivities), and then walked down to the embarcadero to watch fireworks. we got there just in time to see police officers in formation marching into the crowd. it was pretty good, not as spectacular as years past, though. getting back onto bart was terrible, as expected. a mad crush for the platform.

After work, my GF and I went back home and had some rosemary chicken and a nice bottle of wine, then she got dressed up in a cute little pink plaid wool miniskirt (Sisley) </strong><hr></blockquote>

My 6-yr old & 8-yr old played bingo at the neighbor's until the late hour of 8:30. My husband & I watched the extended version of FOTR with the Director's commentary and fell asleep in front of the tv around 9:30. Not nearly as exciting as the days of drinking til ya puke in the wee hours, but New Year's Day was much more enjoyable.

The 31. started bad for me, I was all angry the whole day (don't know why, though). Despite that, I went to another friend on the evening, cheered up a little bit, watched some TV, and happily moved over into 2003. Afterwards we went to a party, which was actually big fun, because I'm not really a party animal, but this time it was kinda different. I had loads of fun.

Went home with a girl at 5 a.m. and had a pretty good time then. So you see, the year 2003 started very good for me.

I went with friends to see Gangs of New York, which got over at 11:30 and then watched the ball drop and went to bed. New Years day is a different story...
