I am going to go ahead do it. What the hell. The Eagles are going to beat the Steelers in the Super Bowl. Philly will burn to ground if that happens!

Yeah, this would be interesting. Two PA teams and two opposing sides of Pennsylvania. The "liberal" east and the "conservative" west... You have to live in PA to understand. Look at our political history...

Still, if the Eagles or Steelers do play and either win it will make the current issues as to whether we needed a new stadium in Philly seem frivolous. It will put Philly and PA into the spotlight.

And I hope all of us behave...whoever wins (yeah right).

    gooo eagles

    E! A! G! L! E! S!

    GO EAGLES

Yeah I heard that in a bar Saturday night. Some dude jumped up on the bar and went crazy...but everyone loved it.

Looks like an all PA superbowl is getting closer to reality after today's games.

Pittsburgh, the city limits and the areas that grew because of the industry, are actually Liberal . . . liberal in the traditional "Honor-Labor" sort of way . . . after all, its the birth place of the first Unions!!!!

but let's not jump the guns . . . there are still two weeks and some very good teams out there

The Jets look awesome and the Raiders are, to my mind, the team that will dominate up to the Superbowl (unless they meet the Steelers first ) . . . and then there's Tennessee . . . they obliterated the Steelers when they met last time . . . although the Steelers were still getting used to Maddox then, and, were not healthy . . in other areas as well . .

    this next week . .

K Bell (Linebacker) might be out . . . which would be super terrible . . but other than that the rest of the squad should be healthy . . including Chad Scott back in the secondary . . so who knows . . .

If it turns out that way, it'd be hard to choose sides for an outsider. Do you cheer for the team that had the complete package all year, despite having to go to the back-up QB...then the back-up back-up QB? Or do you cheer for the team that was nothing until a draft pick from the early 90s rallied them back to the top.

I'd say you'd have to cheer for Maddox. Imagine if in his first game of the year, the Browns had made that field goal...Maddox probably wouldn't have replaced Kordell.

But what if it's another AFC team in the Super Bowl...Left for dead at 1-4, Chad Pennington comes in and destroys the competition.

And what about Vick, who defied history and gave the Packers their first postseason loss at home?

Or what about the 49ers, who came back from 24 points down in the 3rd quarter of their 1st round game to win against the Giants...

This past season was pretty remarkable.

Swiped this from a Farker post...had to share...

Hee hee. lessons on class from Eagles fans.

This from the team that cheered when it looked like Michael Irvin might have broken his neck.

This from the team that booed Santa Claus and pelted him with snowballs.

And threw snowballs at the broadcasting crew during an Eagles-Cowboys game.

This from the team that has to actually hold court DURING a game, with a judge and everything, becuase of all the crap that goes on in the stands.

    Bob Uecker said it best:

"Philadelphia fans are such jerks, when the game gets rained out, they go to the airport and boo landings."

    Now, the Eagles.

I wasn't impressed with the offense, that is for sure. Defensively they let some things happen that shouldn't have. If the Falcons were more mature (and not running on adrenaline the whole time) they would have won. The Falcons really shot themselves in the foot. I thought the Eagles were nearly perfect in the first quarter. They started to lose it in the second...and then nearly collapsed in the third. The fourth was a different story as they put together a really nice drive.

Overall, I am concerned with the offense. And, it is not the execution...it's the play calling. The Falcons had two second stringers in on the secondary and the Eagles kept running Deuce up the middle. They should have passed more. Defensively, I don't think the Eagles are going to have a problem after having to deal with Mike Vick, the Amazing Wonder Escape Artist who got out situations I have never seen ANYONE get out of. Then again, he got called for intentional grounding in a playoff game!

    Thoughts? What a weird game.
