So, were all those rumors about the MacBook Air's imminent refresh greatly exaggerated?

I nobody other than Mr Jobs knows for sure....but I'm dying to buy one.

We know that Toshiba are bringing a new NAND fabrication into volume production this Summer:

They said Q3, which is July-September. The MBA already uses Toshiba NAND for their SSD chips.

This update could mean double the storage for the same price and I think Apple have to hit 128GB to have any chance of replacing the white MB with the entry Air. If they can hit 160GB, even better.

Same applies to the iPhone, which also uses NAND memory.

They could do the same with the Mini and make it very small indeed - almost Macbook Pro height and leave main storage to Thunderbolt.

I am sorry if this is not the right place, but not sure where is.

I use a core2 duo MM as my HTPC, and was looking to replace it with the upcoming refresh for a little more speed, and well I like to upgrade.

But now my girlfirend is moving in with me and she hates using the wireless keyboard and mouse with the plasma as the monitor.

So, I was thinking about getting a MBA instead of upgrading the MM to make her happy.

I guess my questions is, if I am am only using the MBA so she can download movies/music to the TC, is it possible to have the MBA tell the MM to play a movie from the TC on the plasma that is connected to the MM?

Thanks, and again sorry if in the wrong place.

You might need the girlfriend 4.0 upgrade to fix that compatibility issue but you have to totally erase the old version first.

You have a few options. You can get a media box for playing movies like the WD Live and it has its own interface for browsing movies on local or network storage.

You can keep the Mini hooked up and get an iPad along with a VNC app that lets you control the Mini from the iPad.

Here's an app that is just a control for it:

    Full VNC looks like this:

There's also Airplay from iPad to a Mini or an AppleTV.

Never even thought about a VNC app for my iPad. Thanks!!!
